Ladyburn, 1966 Edition Three
Ladyburn 1966 Edition Three was produced by the short-lived Lowland distillery, which operated between 1966 and 1975, leaving no physical trace behind. Bottled after 56 years in a single sherry butt, the release comprised 210 numbered bottles and represented the exhaustion of another irreplaceable Ladyburn cask. Presented in crystal decanters, the edition concluded a trilogy curated by William Grant & Sons, closing the remaining chapter on one of Scotch whisky’s most elusive ghost distilleries.

Finish
Oak tannins, menthol
The nose is deep and complex with stewed raisins, cloves and dark chocolate, lifted by a subtle hint of dried orange that comes and goes. The palate is rich and spicy, showing stewed fruits, dark chocolate and crystallized ginger before sweeter notes of brown sugar and caramelized hazelnuts emerge over time. The long, evolving finish brings gentle oak and a wisp of menthol.
