Capreolus, Hart and Dart Barrel Aged Gin
Taking its already acclaimed Garden Swift Gin and ageing it in rare mulberry wood barrels, Capreolus has created its Hart & Dart Mulberry Barrel Aged Gin. Released in single-cask editions of about 500 bottles each, this aged gin consists of around 34 botanicals, including Sicilian blood orange zest and lime-tree flowers. Made in Gloucestershire with sustainable production, this English gin is not to be missed.

On the nose, there is an immediate hit of sweet orange citrus (blood orange juice specifically). There's some softening florality of orange blossom and rose petals, finishing with a tickle of herbs and spices like licorice root, thyme, and black pepper. The palate is beautifully textured – resinous and oily – and the aromas found on the nose only intensify with candied orange and marmalade, some earthy herbaceousness, and a touch of medicinal honey in the background. The finish is warming, with a dryness that leaves your palate watering right until the end.
