Calle 23, Reposado
Calle 23 Reposado tequila comes from the Hacienda Capellania distillery in Jalisco, Mexico. The liquid is double-distilled in pot stills and is rested for eight months in ex-bourbon oak casks. This is a 100% agave tequila with a typical reposado character.
Nose
Coffee, dark chocolate, toasted marshmallow
Palate
Cooked agave, toasted oak, earthiness
Finish
Warm spice, minerality, dry palate
There is some lovely balancing of agave and oak in this earthy reposado. On the nose, distinguishable coffee, bitter dark chocolate, toasted marshmallows, and oak come through followed with a whisper of bonfire at the end. On the palate, there is the ever-present agave with some lovely warming spices, before coming together with some minerality right on the finish.
