The Singleton of Dufftown, Prima & Ultima Fourth Release

A parcel of casks originally destined for blending was rediscovered during the acquisition of a warehouse, leading to this 37 Year Old release drawn from the final remaining Singleton of Dufftown 1985 casks. Shaped by long, patient maturation, the whisky reflects the distillery’s slow-crafting approach. It shows a fruit-led aromatic profile and a gently oily, smooth texture, with age bringing balance and composure rather than excess.
Nose
Barbecued pineapple, poached pears, baked apple
Palate
Golden syrup, orchard fruit
Finish
Oak spice, tinned pineapple
The nose is intensely sweet with barbecued pineapple, poached pears and stewed apples rising from the glass. The palate is syrupy in texture and rich in flavor as the orchard and tropical fruit notes continue to shine, bold, dessert like and satisfying at full strength. On the finish a gentle wood spice emerges late to add balance, but lingering sweetness remains the defining note.
