Bowmore, ARC-54
Bowmore released ARC-54 in 2025, a 54-year-old single malt developed in partnership with Aston Martin and limited to 130 decanters. Drawn from a second-fill European oak sherry butt and a third-fill American oak hogshead, the whisky emphasised long, gentle maturation, allowing peat to soften and distillery character to remain prominent. Positioned at the very top end of the market, ARC-54 continued Bowmore’s focus on extended ageing, rarity and design-led presentation.

Mandarin and pineapple lead on the nose with a hint of smoke and sea salt, while a touch of menthol freshness in the background nods to its peaty past. The palate is remarkably fresh, starting with green apples and orange zest in a lightly peated style before wood influence brings a zing of ginger spice and caramelized hazelnuts. The finish reveals the faded influence of peat with herbal minty spice and a lasting sweetness.
