Glendronach, Boynsmill House Edition Anniversary Edition

The GlenDronach turned 200 in 2026, and Boynsmill House Edition is the accessible half of its anniversary program, alongside the 56 Year Old, the oldest whisky ever bottled by the distillery and priced at £35,000. Master blender Dr Rachel Barrie matured this 14-year-old in the distillery's usual Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, then added a parcel of claret wine casks. Bottled at 46.8% with natural color, it launched in September 2026. The house itself has been restored.

A delightful expression from The GlenDronach, this 14-year-old hints at something more mature than its years suggest, with a darker complexity lurking underneath. It's fresh and fruity in places, then leads into more tannic oakiness, with plenty of sweetness to balance everything out. The combination of Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, and additional claret casks brings a hidden depth to the proceedings, with subtle spice and a more fruit-forward element. Very drinkable indeed.
