This is an exciting release from Ardnamurchan, its oldest ever at the time of release, and a real testament to the complexity of the whiskies
that this unassuming distillery is turning out. It manages to bridge the flavors of both peated and unpeated whiskies
well, while still delivering the nuanced, more fruity and sweet notes that you'd expect from the casks these whiskies have been
aged in. A delicious dram that would not be unwelcome after dinner around a beach fire.
Nose
Vanilla cream, donuts, light smoke, lemon, bergamot

The nose is sweet first of all with vanilla cream, donuts, and a soft hint of smoke, before evolving into citrus oils –lemon, bergamot – and a more malty character. That sweet patisserie comes through unmistakably on the palate, before becoming a touch more saline with the peat, which really starts to bellow in on second and third tasting. A good texture with a touch of oily, nuttiness, and the alcohol. The finish is medium-long, with the smoke starting proceedings before more of that salinity clings to the palate. You can really feel and taste the oak right at the end, too. is exceptionally well integrated too.
