The Singleton of Glen Ord, Special Releases 2025

Since 2001, Diageo has opened the doors to its whisky warehouses and let a little chaos loose. Under the banner of the Special Releases, these are a collection of limited-edition bottlings of their own single malts, and they are not designed to be polite or predictable; they’re a reminder that behind every corporate logo and big-name blend, there’s still a beating heart of people dedicated to making marvellous malt and grain whiskies. This Singleton, aged in bourbon, sherry and finished in mezcal casks, perfectly embodies the series' ethos.
Nose
Dust, suede, honeysuckle, vanilla custard, cinnamon, raisins, icing sugar
Palate
Banana bread, butter, chardonnay, light smoke, pear, melon, licorice
Finish
Cigar smoke, melon, peach
Old bookshop notes and worn suede open into honeysuckle, vanilla custard and light baking spice. The palate leans into banana bread with salted butter and a soft wine note, edged by faint mezcal smoke. Pear, melon and liquorice come through as it opens. The finish holds cigar smoke before fresh fruit returns.
