Bowmore, The Changeling 22 Year Old

Limited to 6,667 bottles, this 22-year-old Bowmore captures the spirit of Islay legend through an innovative maturation. Primarily aged in American oak hogsheads and finished for two years in white port casks, it combines Bowmore’s signature peat smoke and minerality with floral notes and summer fruits. Part of the ongoing collaboration with graphic artist Frank Quitely, the packaging vividly illustrates the changeling myth, blending artistry with whisky-making. A lighter, transformative expression, it offers a fresh take on Bowmore’s traditional style while telling a story as rich and layered as the liquid itself.
Nose
Peat smoke, heather, sea spray, green apple skin, dessert wine
Palate
Fresh herbs, honey, salt
Finish
Peat smoke, soap, menthol
Peat, fresh heather and sea spray lead the nose, backed by green apple skin and a touch of sweet wine. The palate keeps the coastal freshness but adds honey and herbal notes, with the saltiness still evident. The finish turns slightly soapy as the peat takes charge, though the fruit hangs on in the background.
