This Lagavulin formed part of Diageo's Special Releases 2021 as one of eight bottles of unusual origins. This one was distilled in 2008 and aged using exclusive bourbon refill casks. As a result, you get an abundance of Lagavulin's distillery character, including lemon juice, salty air, charcoal and seaweed.

A strong maritime start shifts into dark chocolate, then citrus and a ginger edge when watered. The palate is simple: sourdough, lemon and bonfire. Water pulls out more fruit. The finish remains smoky with citrus peeking through.
