Released as part of Diageo’s 2021 Special Releases, this 19-year-old from The Singleton of Glendullan was matured in refill bourbon casks before a finishing period in cognac-seasoned casks, and bottled at cask strength of 54.6% ABV. The cognac casks impart a richer, sweeter profile than is typical for the distillery, with fruit-led aromas and marzipan notes, and a rounded palate that carries its weight comfortably despite the higher strength.

Nose

Orange oil, lemon zest, raw honey

Palate

Oak spice, pencil shavings, ginger, green apples

Finish

Stem ginger, spent tea leaves, oak spice, tannins

Citrus drives the nose with orange oil, lemon zest and raw honey. The palate pivots to spice and dry oak, backed by pencil shavings and ginger. Water brings green apples and grapes into focus. The finish stays long, gingery and firmly dry.
