The final release of Brora 1981, this is among the rarest Brora bottlings ever made, with just 794 bottles produced. Drawn from a combination of American oak hogsheads and a European oak Sherry butt, it reflects a period when Brora’s output was less heavily peated, allowing waxy and floral elements to come forward.
Nose
Floral notes, light smoke, sea salt, honey, beeswax
Palate
Honey, smoke, beeswax
Finish
Long, bonfire smoke, oak spice
Floral notes lead the nose with a light wisp of smoke and salt arriving late. Time opens honey and beeswax. The palate carries Brora’s oily texture with sweetness balanced by an ashy smoke reminiscent of a morning-after bonfire.
