The Macallan, Concept No 3
The Macallan Concept Number 3 is a collaboration between the distillery and graphic designer David Carson, marking the final release in the Concept series. Carson is known for his work in magazine design and experimental typography, and brought that background to the visual identity of the whisky. Developed following time spent at The Macallan Estate, working alongside whisky maker Polly Logan, Carson sought a flavor profile that reflected is love for surfing on the California coast, giving this a much more tropical profile compared to classic Macallans.

Pineapple and dried mango open the nose with cinnamon in support. The palate is fresh with apples, pears and a cut-grass note. Light and summery. The finish is short to medium with fruity sweetness lingering.
