The GlenDronach, 50 Year Old
The GlenDronach joined the half-century club among Scotch whisky distilleries with the release of its oldest single malt in 2022, a 50 Year Old. With nearly 200 years of often turbulent history, the release marked a significant milestone for the Highland distillery. Despite operating since 1826, The GlenDronach had resisted entering the heavily aged market until this point. It arrived at a moment of strong interest in long-matured whisky among collectors, releasing just 198 bottles into the market.

Dark berries and black cherry sit with old leather on the nose while cacao and cranberries add richness. The palate is silky with dark chocolate leading into crystallised orange and dried cranberries. The finish is medium with espresso and dark cherry building at the close.
