Highland Park, 54 Year Old

Highland Park marked its 225th anniversary with the release of its oldest whisky to date, a 54 Year Old single malt distilled in 1968. Created by master whisky maker Gordon Motion, the whisky was matured across refill hogsheads, refill butts and European sherry butts, delivering depth and intensity shaped over five decades. Limited to 225 bottles and priced at £39,000, it stood as a definitive tribute to Highland Park’s Orkney heritage.

Candied grapefruit, Maraschino cherries, cacao nibs
Finish
Oak spice
An intense sweetness of honey and caramelized nuts sets up the nose before black pepper, leather and age notes come through. The palate starts with candied grapefruit then moves to deeper sweetness, maraschino cherries and cacao nibs as the cask influence tightens its grip. The finish is long and firmly in the camp of wooded spice.
