The Old Ways formed part of House of Hazelwood’s 2024 Charles Gordon Collection and was distilled in 1972 at Girvan during a fully manual production era. This 50-year-old single grain whisky reflects older production methods and raw material choices, including American red corn. Long ageing has softened the spirit while preserving texture and depth, resulting in a composed, layered whisky that balances sweetness, structure and historical character without overt cask dominance.

Nose

Cornmeal, toffee brittle, baking spice

Palate

Maple syrup, toasted coconut, oak spice, cereal

Finish

Vanilla, cinnamon

Cornmeal sweetness, toffee brittle and warm baking spice lead the nose. The palate rolls through maple syrup, toasted coconut and gentle oak tannin with soft cereal notes beneath. The finish is smooth and mellow with lingering vanilla and cinnamon.
