Released as part of The Last Drop Distillers’ 2024 Collection, this Auchentoshan 40 Year Old reflected the company’s ongoing approach of bottling singular, story-led spirits in extremely limited quantities. Drawn from a single American oak cask laid down in 1984, the whisky is triple distilled and unusually light for its age. It shows a refined, fruit-led profile with gentle sweetness and maintained distillery character, bottled at natural strength from just 74 bottles.

Pear drops and stewed cherries set the tone before caramel and soft spice drift in. The palate is full and rounded with toffee and vanilla taking the lead. Wood spice closes things out with a light licorice lift, making this an easy, enjoyable pour.
