Dictador Generations En Lalique marks a defining moment for rum’s entry into the world of fine and rare spirits. Created by master blender Hernan Parra and his father Dario, the release combines vintage rums from 1976 matured in American oak and port casks, an extraordinary feat given Colombia’s tropical climate. Limited to just 300 bottles, each decanter was designed by Lalique’s Mark Larminaux, inspired by the motion of the Caribbean Sea. Sold at Sotheby’s for over $40,000, Bottle No.0 set a record for rum and supported Dictador’s Art Masters project, transforming an abandoned distillery into a world-class graffiti museum.

Nose

Dark chocolate, worn leather, oak spice

Palate

Black cherry, oak spice, sandalwood

Finish

Toasted tobacco, dark fruit, oak spice

American oak takes the lead with rich chocolate and leather, giving the whisky a grounded maturity. The palate deepens into black cherry with the oak holding everything in place. It signs off with tobacco and dark fruit that stay long after the sip.
