Midleton Very Rare, 2021 Vintage Release

The 2021 edition of Midleton Very Rare marked a new chapter for Ireland’s most collectible whiskey series. For the first time under master distiller Kevin O’Gorman, the 38th release blends single-pot-still and single-grain whiskeys aged between 15 and 36 years, including spirit first laid down in 1984 when the collection began. O’Gorman leaned slightly more on grain whiskey and a mix of first- and second-fill casks, lending a silkier texture and deeper oak influence while preserving the series’ trademark balance and refinement. His debut vintage honoured tradition while signalling a confident evolution for Midleton’s flagship expression.
