Martell, L’or de Jean Martell Chateau Cognac
Martell introduced L’Or de Jean Martell Château de Chanteloup, a limited-edition cognac created to honour the family’s historic Borderies estate in 2023. Drawn from some of the house’s most precious stocks, the blend combined more than 1,400 eaux-de-vie and was finished in exceptionally old French oak barrels. Bottled in bespoke Baccarat crystal and limited to 1,000 decanters, the release marked a deliberate move away from repeatable blends toward a singular, collectible expression rooted in place and time.
Nose
Dark fruits, floral notes, oak spice
Palate
Orchard fruits, cinammon, dried violets, oak spice
Finish
Stewed apricots, raisins, oak spice
Dark fruits lead the nose with lifted floral notes and a quiet thread of oak. The palate is rich and focused, showing concentrated fruit supported by a touch of spice that adds depth without upsetting the balance. The finish is graceful and persistent, letting the fruit carry through long after the oak steps back.
