The Last Drop Distillers marked a shift from curation to creation with Release No. 28, a blended Kentucky straight whiskey crafted by Drew Mayville. Drawing on 14 vintage casks set aside over two decades at Buffalo Trace, the unrepeatable blend was bottled uncut and unfiltered at 60.7% ABV. Limited to 1,458 bottles, it balanced youthful vibrancy with mature depth, embodying Mayville’s long-held vision of a pinnacle bourbon blend.

Candied fruit, orange zest, leather, oak spice
Finish
Dark chocolate, oak spice
The nose is immediately accessible with butterscotch, vanilla and rum-soaked raisins backed by mango, braised pineapple and orange zest. The palate begins bright with candied fruit before moving into worn leather and fine oak spice as the older blends assert themselves. The finish sheds all sweetness and settles into dark chocolate.
